What's my body type?
There are three basic human body types: the endomorph, characterized by a preponderance of body fat; the mesomorph, marked by a well-developed musculature; and the ectomorph, distinguished by a lack of much fat or muscle tissue. An ectomorph will naturally look skinner than he or she is, an endomorph will look heavier even when ripped, and a mesomorph will look well proportioned even with a little added weight.
Ectomorph
Small “delicate” frame and bone structure
Classic “hardgainer”
Flat chest
Small shoulders
ThinLean muscle mass
Finds it hard to gain weight
Fast metabolism
Mesomorph
Athletic
Generally hard body
Well defined muscles
Rectangular shaped body
Strong
Gains muscle easily
Gains fat more easily than ectomorphs
Endomorph
Soft and round body
Gains muscle and fat very easily
Is generally short
“Stocky” build
Round physique
Finds it hard to lose fat
Slow metabolism
Muscles not so well defined
These body types aren’t set in stone. In fact, most people have a combination of two body types. These combinations are either ectomorph/mesomorph or mesomorph/endomorph. It is not uncommon to find a pure mesomorph that gains weight. source : perfectbodymagazine Image copyright @yoonclinic
